California Environmental Legacy Project

The California Environmental Legacy Project (CELP) uses multiple forms of media to connect the state’s diverse population to local, regional, and global levels of understanding about environmental change. The three-pronged approach—a Web portal, feature programs for public television, and onsite video installation at state parks—seeks to understand how complementary forms of media can increase the public’s understanding of and concern for environmental issues that affect their local and regional surroundings. As external evaluator for the project, NewKnowledge leads research on California residents’ perspectives about the environment. CELP is supported by the National Science Foundation.
